On September 12, 2025, the inaugural meeting of the Brain-Computer Interface and Brain Science Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association and the first plenary session of its inaugural committee were successfully held in Guangzhou. 

The meeting was presided over by Li Guoying, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Guangdong Medical Association. Leaders including Huang Fei, President of the Guangdong Medical Association; Ban Wu, Director of the Social Development Science and Technology Department of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; and Li Huan, Deputy Director of the Science and Education Department of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, attended and delivered speeches. Following the election procedures, the inaugural committee was formed, comprising a total of 138 members. Professor Rong Limin, Editor-in-Chief of JBS, was honored to be elected as a Vice Chairperson of the inaugural committee.

Introduction to the Brain-Computer Interface and Brain Science Committee

The inaugural committee consists of 138 members, encompassing 113 from the clinical medicine field, 17 from the engineering technology field, and 8 enterprise representatives. Within the clinical medicine sector, the membership includes 21 from the Southern Medical University system, 20 from the Sun Yat-sen University system, 14 from the Guangzhou Medical University system, 15 from the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital system, 15 from units in Guangzhou city, 15 from units in Shenzhen city, and 13 from hospitals in other prefectural cities. This composition essentially achieves a comprehensive layout across disciplines, regions, and the industrial chain.
