Nature Aging | Team Led by Professor Lu Zhengqi, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of JBS, Unveils Novel Mechanism of Brain Aging, Providing Precision Intervention Targets for "Preventive Treatment"

发布时间:2025-10-23 浏览:22

Against the backdrop of global population aging, neurodegenerative diseases have become a major threat to the health of the elderly. Among them, diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease not only cause the loss of cognitive and motor functions in patients but also impose a heavy burden on families and society. Currently, treatments for neurodegenerative diseases primarily focus on alleviating symptoms, lacking fundamental early intervention methods. A team led by Professor Lu Zhengqi from the Department of Neurology, Encephalopathy Center, The Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and Associate Researcher Cai Wei, in collaboration with Professor Liu Qiang's team from the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, published a new study in the internationally renowned journal Nature Aging (a top-tier journal in CAS Zone 1) on September 10, 2025. The study reveals for the first time the mechanism by which immune cells in the brain transmit aging signals through "migrasomes," offering a novel strategy for blocking the early progression of neurodegenerative pathologies.
