To further enhance the international influence and academic standards of the Journal of Brain and Spine (JBS), build a world-class scientific journal, and simultaneously cultivate young reserve talents for the editorial committee while increasing the reserve of young scientific talents, JBS plans to establish a Young Editorial Board. We are now openly recruiting the inaugural Young Editorial Board members globally. Journal Profile
The Journal of Brain and Spine (ISSN 3079-7802) is an open-access international English-language journal founded in 2025 by the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Aligned with the major national science and technology strategy "Brain Science and Brain-Like Research (Brain Initiative)," the journal features interdisciplinary medicine-engineering and multidisciplinary integration, dedicated to building a high-end academic exchange platform in the field of brain and spine.
Application Requirements
1. Generally under the age of 45, holding a doctoral degree or a title of associate senior professional or higher.
2. Engaged in basic or clinical research in the field of brain and spine, with a high academic level, having presided over or participated in various fund projects or research topics.
3. Published ≥3 SCI papers as first author or corresponding author in the past 5 years.
4. Enthusiastic about journal work, able to actively participate in soliciting manuscripts, special topic planning, peer review, and journal promotion, and willing to contribute ideas and efforts to the development of the new journal.
5. Prior experience as an editorial board member or reviewer for international SCI journals is preferred.
Rights and Benefits of Young Editorial Board Members
1. Young Editorial Board members will be preferentially invited to participate in academic activities organized by the journal.
2. Eligibility for selection of outstanding Young Editorial Board member awards, with recognition and prizes for selected members.
3. High-quality manuscripts authored or recommended by Young Editorial Board members will be prioritized for publication upon successful completion of the review process.
4. Priority coverage for important academic conferences organized or participated in by Young Editorial Board members, as well as their significant research findings, promoted as key features on the WeChat official account.
5. Issuance of a Young Editorial Board member appointment certificate (term of 3 years). Reappointment is possible upon satisfactory performance review at the end of the term. Outstanding contributors may be promoted to full Editorial Board members through selection.
6. Join the journal's Young Editorial Board WeChat group to expand academic networks.
Responsibilities of Young Editorial Board Members
1. Soliciting and Contributing Manuscripts: Recommend or submit at least one high-quality paper to the journal during the appointment term.
2. Peer Review: Participate in the journal's manuscript review process, providing detailed comments, or recommend excellent peer reviewers in related fields.
3. Journal Promotion: Promote and publicize the journal at domestic and international academic conferences, as well as on social media platforms such as WeChat and X (Twitter). This includes, but is not limited to, actively participating in writing original content for the journal's WeChat official account, translating selected articles, and writing for international science and technology news media reports.
4. Academic Activities: Actively assist and participate in academic exchange activities organized by the journal, and plan/organize relevant academic conferences.

Applicants are responsible for the authenticity of the information provided and materials submitted; otherwise, they will be disqualified and the matter may be publicly announced.
The application deadline is January 1, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
